When do you think he developed feelings for her? What took him so long to act on these feelings?īridgette– In my opinion, Dallas’ feelings for Diana surfaced for him the moment he saw her which is why he was so adamant to push her away at first.

Diana lays the landscape in her life and that is a quality many people lack.ĭallas seemingly wants nothing to do with Diana at first. She doesn’t disown her nephews with labels, instead she takes them in as her very own. She decides who gets to know what information and when. I really enjoyed the character development in this instance because it showed how truly committed she is to the boys. Although her age makes it seem as if she is a teen mom, she gives no indication to that being a negative thing. Since the death of her brother she has fully dedicated herself to the raising of her two nephews. I think in Diana’s mind they are her sons and people outside of her circle don’t need to know that she didn’t have them biologically.Ĭlaire– Diana’s character is funny, committed, and selfless. I understand she felt like she still had to fear some people who might want to be in the lives of her boys, but I think her fear of telling those in her life was unnecessary and impossible to maintain.Īmy– Well…I can’t help but feel like some of this story is my story. Read the book and you will see what I mean. I am surprised the news didn’t travel to her neighbor since her boss, Ginny, knew the truth.

Why do you think Diana refrained from disclosing the boys as her nephews instead of her sons at first?īridgette– It seemed to me that Diana was motivated by fear when she advertently hid the truth about her boys from all of the new people in her life. Perhaps the change of scenery will prove to help their family cope with loss and maybe even lead to something more with the support she finds in others. She is trying to do her best, yet she can’t help feeling like it is not enough. When she moves into her new house she starts to get to know her neighbors while traversing the waters of raising the two boys as they are getting older. This story is about Diana Casillas, a twenty nine year old woman, doing her best to raise two boys who lost their father. Please see above for more details on the book.
